Niall Sloane started his career as a journalist for the Herts Advertiser. He joined the BBC in 1982 as an Assistant Producer for BBC Sport for six years. Following another six years as Assistant Editor for Sportnight and Match Of The Day, Niall became Editor of Match Of The Day in 1995. Niall was born in Portadown and played for Sheffield Wednesday. He is now BBC Head of Formula 1 programming.
